Hey,
How are you guys doing?
I know I am very late at posting the Diwali blog but I got busy with some work.. please forgive me and enjoy the blog.
So if you are new to my page, hey! I am Grishma and I write about lifestyle and beauty mainly.. ( just putting it out there) I have already mentioned in my past blogs that I was a journalism student and I recently graduated. Currently am working with a lifestyle magazine. So the whole point of this is to let you know that I don’t belong to Delhi but due to my studies and job I am here. Due to prior commitments I wasn’t able to go to my hometown ( Odisha) this Diwali and I had to celebrate this festival without my family.
So this blog is a little sneak peak into how I celebrate my Diwali alone.
First of all I planned to get full decked up this year for Diwali and for that I choose to wear a saree. Luckily I visited Jaipur very recently and got a traditional jaipuri saree. I got it roll pressed and stitched in Noida and also I got the blouse made from the tailor. I managed to stock up some new jewelleries as well.
This is the final look:

P.S. – Ignore my sliders.
Coming to puja, I decided to go to Temple and perform a simple puja how I always do for any of my festivals when I am away from home.

Then for Diwali shopping which is my most favorite part, I got a lot of colors for rangoli ( though I don’t know how to make it which you can clearly see). Some diyas, candles, lights and sweets.

On the day of Diwali, I had a video call from my family and we spoke for quite some time catching up on life and stuff.

After that me and my roommate decided to clean up our space and decorat it completely with lights, diyas and then put rangoli. We also had a lavish dinner of biriyani and some chicken tikkas. Later I cooked some kesar baat for deserts to call it a night.

A small celebration of Diwali ended on a happy note. Though I missed my family a lot specially my parents and my brother and how we use to celebrate Diwali together!!! But I guess this is a part of adulting and we all have to go through this experience.

This is the first time I am writing about my personal experience in my blog. I still don’t know how I feel about it but I hope you enjoyed this post.

Wishing you a very happy Diwali (belated) 2018.
Thank you for reading till the end.
A special mention to my very close friend who is also my roommate for clicking all the pictures and also for being a part of my Diwali celebrations.
Have a great day!
Byee!!
