Hello everyone,

How are you guys doing? Winters are at its peak and hair situation at its worst. At rough and dry time like this, our hair needs a little extra attention. My hair situation is as horrible as it can get, just like yours. Therefore, I decided to invest in a rich and luxurious product for that extra protection. And turns out it doesn't burn a hole in the pocket. The Extraordinary Oil Serum from L'oreal is a budget friendly serum with luxurious feel to it. Here are my takeaways after using it for over two months now.

Price - Rs 499/-

Quality- 100ml

Availability- Both online and offline

Versatility- can be used as a heat protectant, before hair wash as an oil for hair lengths, styling, serum for frizz control & hair perfume.

Ingridents - Blend of 6 flowers extract oils, added fragrance are listed.

Formulation- Dense dark liquid that vanishes into light weight serum as you apply onto your hair strands.

Texture- Thick & Rich, Feels luxurious, Smells like wood & flowers.

Staying power - Perfume & Shine stays for couple of hours but Smoothness lasts 8-10 hours.

How to use

Take a few drops onto your palm and massage it into your fingers tips and then slowly run it through your hair strands and ends.

Slightly tame your front section & crown area hair lengths with the remaing product.

Follow the process with combing to ensure even application & blood circulation.

You can use it as an overnight nourishment treatment for your dull & dry hair strands. Never use serum on the roots. It can cause hairfall.

The product can be used as a heat protectant before blow drying & styling your hair.

It can also be used a finished product to add a sheen to your hairstyle.

L'oreal Extraordinary Oil Serum as the name suggests can be used like a typical serum on your damp hair lengths to reduce frizz, dryness and for a smooth detangling experience.

It can also be used like a hair perfume to achieve a fresh feel during bad hair days.

Review

I have tested the product in all the mentioned ways and without a doubt, it has worked extraordinarily for my dry & fine hair. Although, it doesn't last for a whole day. You need to reapply the next morning for a frizz-free smooth looking hair, that smells of flowers and wood. The perfume isn't overpowering, yet it is noticable. So, if you are sensitive to smell, then it might cause irritation for a few hours. It does fade away quite easily. As a heat protectant, it does a decent job, however, I have no idea about it protecting hair against harsh sunrays. Having said that, I must add, looking at the price point, it does a job that can be compared with expensive serums available out there.

Pros

Both quantity & quality are top notch

Does what it claims

Multipurpose

Has a good self-life

Easily available in the stores and also online.

Trusted Brand name

Always on discount & offers

Cons

Isn't that long lasting

Perfume could be an issue for sensitive people.

Where can I get it?

Buy offline from any general store/cosmetic store.

Online you can get it on Nykaa, Amazon & Flipkart.

I think, now you can decide whether or not you like L'oreal Extraordinary Oil Serum.

Hope you enjoyed reading!

See you soon!

About Cactus & Sunflower

"Cactus & Sunflower" is  Grishma Satpathy's new venture in the digital space. The name comes from her deep relation

with her grandmother and the impressions of cactus and sunflower in their lives. As a child she used to share all her curiosities

about the plants with her 'MAA'. Her grandmother believed that 'Grishma' and 'Sunflower' have so much in common;

both are associated with sun and is the ultimate source of light. She always said Grishma to always make sure to carry

that light within yourself wherever you go and whatever you do.
