You  must be wondering why such a name 'Cactus & Sunflower'? Well, hold your breath, you are about to enter my chotu world that goes way back to my childhood!  As a little girl, I was very curious about the nature.

Me being my grandmother's pet, she used to be my BFF with whom I used to share my all curiosities. I have always wondered about CACTUS, being so tough from outside and yet so soft as a jelly from within.

Stating the fact that it didn't require any water for days. Whereas on the other hand, the SUNFLOWER being so different that it can change its direction with the sun. To all my doubts my grandmother always said, see for yourself, go explore! Of course, I was in 90s without google.

My afternoon ritual would include 'Project Cactus & Sunflower', the soul agenda being to spot the moment and see if cactus degrades due to excess hydration! My silly things were the topic of discuss at home everyday! Only Ma took me seriously & we laughed over them for years..

There are many childhood memories with my 'MA' but these two cute little plants tops the list.

Her  gyaan while we sip chai was clear that you explore and learn from your mistakes & the surroundings; try to inherit the positive traits of your favorite plants/ friends.

"You should grow up to follow the righteous path, as in the case of sunflower, and learn to survive in the toughest situations and still be soft from within, just like a cactus". She used to say that- 'Grishma and Sunflower' have so much in common.

we both are associated with Sun- the ultimate source of light, therefore, always make sure to carry that light within yourself wherever you go and whatever you do!

These Afternoon chat sessions with my beloved 'Ma' have always given me strength  to make my amends inorder to  draw a path in my 23 years of living!
