Hello beauties,

Hope you are having a fun time! Today’s blog is on one of the most requested topics which is related to skin care! You guys have a lot of questions on acne solution, marks clear skin, bright skin etc. So today I decided to talk about how to get a healthy skin.

Step 1:

Internal care:

Now, first things first, as I have always told you, a health mind and a healthy body is the only step towards a healthy skin. If you are someone who is always stressed, sleep deprived, eats unhealthy junk and don’t consume water as required by your body then whatever product you use nothing is going to show results. You will end up getting dark circles, hormonal acne, dull skin, hair loss and eventually early aging. So I would request you start by taking baby steps towards a healthy lifestyle where you incooperate some good skin-foods at the basic level. Start by drinking a lot water, consume omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D,C rich foods.

Step 2:

Keeping a track on your hormones:

Often we ignore the fact that as a women our body’s hormonal balance is something we cannot take lightly. If you are someone who is getting a lot acne around chin and jaw line area then you should visit a doctor and get a PCOD test done. Also, the best way to get your hormones on track is exercise and good food. I have seen a drastic difference in my skin after I stated Zumba. If you are someone having active acne issues then don’t use any home remedies or medications on your own and go visit a skin doctor to get a clear idea about what is the main issue behind that. Also, you have acne only on your forehead area then it can be due to dandruff. Click here get the solution.

Step 3-

Simple and regular skin care routine:

Follow a simple but regular CTM routine. Cleansing, toning and moisturising your skin daily without fail will show effective results. Use a salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide face wash in the morning and evening. Message it gently for good 2-3 mins and then leave it for 5 mins. After that wash it off with running water.

I am using this face wash which is very mild and doesn’t dehydrate my already Sahara desert skin. It has effectively shown difference on my face.

After which I like to take a quick shower using a facial mist or toner. I use this one from faceshop. Also sometimes I like to use rose water. Let the toner dry naturally after which use a thick layer of moisturiser. I use this one which is recommended by my dermatologist but I would recommend this one by Neutrogena which is best for all skin type. I can’t stress enough on sunscreen. I use this one again from Neutrogena.

Step 4-

Deep cleanse your pores to avoid any break outs-

I like to do these additional steps twice a week. Scrubbing, Steaming, Masking : scrub your face with a mild scrub, you can use a chemical exfoliater like this faceshop one or this innisfree one. Or you can scrub your face with a Neutrogena blackhead scrub or Himalayan neem scrub also. After your dead skins are removed and your face is squeaky clean use a pack to deeply cleanse any remaining impurity. Use a green tea or charcoal mask for pimple issues. I would recommend DETOX MASK from loreal. After this next step is closing your pores using a toner, use a DIY toner like green tea one or you can just rub ice cubes also. Spot treatment can be done using tea tree oil in case cystic acne.

Step 5:

Don’t irritate your skin by touching or scratching it.

If you are getting pimple the way to heal is to ignore its existence. Don’t poke it at all. Germs from your fingers will aggregate the acne even more. Also, don’t use any home remedy if you are under any medication. Mixing things might take a toll on your face and have adverse effect on your face. Always follow one type of treatment for any skin issues.

About Cactus & Sunflower

"Cactus & Sunflower" is  Grishma Satpathy's new venture in the digital space. The name comes from her deep relation

with her grandmother and the impressions of cactus and sunflower in their lives. As a child she used to share all her curiosities

about the plants with her 'MAA'. Her grandmother believed that 'Grishma' and 'Sunflower' have so much in common;

both are associated with sun and is the ultimate source of light. She always said Grishma to always make sure to carry

that light within yourself wherever you go and whatever you do.
